The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly condemned the car attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany as death toll rose to five.
Seven Indians were among the 200 injured in the terrifying incident. Three of them have reportedly been discharged from the hospitals.

The ministry said it condemns the "horrific and senseless" attack, pointing out "several precious lives have been lost, and many have been injured."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims," the MEA said in an official statement.

The Centre said its embassy in Germany has communicated with the injured Indian citizens and their families. "Our Mission is in contact with Indians who are injured, as well as their families, and rendering all possible assistance," it said.
Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, also identified as Taleb Abdul Jawad and Taleb A. by media outlets, was arrested soon after the deadly attack.
The Saudi-origin doctor, 50, is a staunch critic of Islam and came to Germany as a refugee in 2006. The psychologist settled and was practising in Bernburg, which is south of Magdeburg, after receiving permanent status in 2016.
He was allegedly a supported of Alternative for Germany, a far-right party, and warned prospective refugees to avoid coming to Germany because the government allegedly tolerated radical Islam.
In a chilling post on August 21, Taleb wrote, "Is "Is there a path to justice in Germany without bombing a German embassy or slaughtering German citizens indiscriminately?"
The man's account bio reads: "Saudi Military Opposition. Germany chases female Saudi asylum seekers, inside and outside Germany, to destroy their lives. Germany wants to islamise Europe."
