Policy in action: Ravi Shankar Prasad, a keen supporter of legal reforms and Digital India initiatives, recently inaugurated the BJP Kisan Morcha’s ‘Grand Sanatan Mahasangam’ event in Fatuha, Patna, organised to mark the Hindu new year. The former Union law minister is now focused on Bihar’s upcoming elections and is attempting to use his expertise of drafting policies to try and engage rural voters. From repealing outdated laws and advanced technology initiatives to lighting lamps and promising digital growth to the villagers, his transition to grassroots politics is noteworthy. But, it remains to be seen whether it can get votes for the BJP.

Wise advice: After the fury over Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial comments on the show India’s Got Latent, the YouTuber is back with a new episode of his podcast, The Ranveer Show, this time featuring a spiritual leader—Palga Rinpoche, who was identified at a young age as a reincarnated lama in the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Apparently, he was Allahbadia’s mentor, to whom the YouTuber turned in his darkest times. The spiritual guru’s advice was simple: “Keep spreading wisdom [through your platform]. Health is wealth: Palanivel Thiagarajan, Tamil Nadu’s IT and digital services minister, presented S. Ramadorai, former CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) with the Sankara Ratna Award 2024 (instituted by the Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation) for his contributions to nation building. “As CEO of TCS, I had the privilege of partnering with Sankara Nethralaya to implement the Tata Hospital Management System and develop an advanced Ophthalmic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enhance patient care,” said Ramadorai in his acceptance speech, emphasising the need to expand quality, affordable health care to remote parts of India.
