'Akshay Kumar has a mind of a yogi': Trainer Suveer Balvi

A yogi is one who remains unperturbed under all conditions

Yoga is the union of the internal and external world. Therefore, physical asanas and internal reflection are equally important for a deeper understanding and experience of yoga.

The purpose of yoga begins with the control of the senses that frees the person from distractions and fear. It not only purifies the body and mind, but also makes the nobility in them apparent. This is attained only through strict abhyas on and off the mat.

I teach yoga to so many people. No matter where they come from, all of them are my students. Among the people I teach, Akshay Kumar is the most disciplined and he has a mind of a yogi. Because of paucity of time many of them [actors in Bollywood whom I train] are unable to pursue it as diligently as yoga demands.

A yogi is one who remains unperturbed under all conditions and does not get influenced by his environment that pulls him down from his path.

Balvi teaches yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Mumbai.
