It has been a week since the Hema Committee report was released. Since then, a few actresses and technicians have come forward, accusing leading Malayalam actors, directors, and technicians of sexual harassment.
A Bengali actress accused director Ranjith of making sexual advances towards her while auditioning for one of his films in 2009. Following the allegations, Ranjith has stepped down as chairman of Kerala Chalachitra Academy.
Siddique has stepped down from his position as general secretary of AMMA, amid allegations that he invited a young actress to Thiruvananthapuram, in 2016, asking her to audition for a ‘non-existent film’, but ended up sexually assaulting her in his hotel room.
Riyaz Khan is being accused by the same actress who exposed Siddique, claiming that he had made sexual advances towards her over a phone call.
A casting director accused Mukesh of sexual harassment during the shooting of a reality TV show. The actor has responded to these allegations, stating, “I am being targeted as CPM MLA. I don't know who is behind it. Political gain is their motive. I never met this lady”
Jayasurya has been mentioned in a list of actors and technicians who allegedly physically and verbally abused an actress in 2013. In the Facebook post, the actress states, “I tried to cooperate and continue working, but the abuse became unbearable.”
In the Facebook post previously mentioned, the actress also claimed that Edavela Babu was involved in physical and verbal abuse, back in 2013, forcing her to quit the Malayalam film industry.
Maniyanpilla Raju has also been named in the previously mentioned Facebook post, accused of the same.
A junior artist has come forward and accused Sudheesh of alleged inappropriate behaviour. She mentioned that he kept pestering her to join him for a long car journey. Sudheesh has denied these allegations, prompting a response from the actress calling him a “seasoned liar”.
Actor Baburaj has also been accused by another junior artist, claiming that he invited her to his house and proceeded to take advantage of her, guaranteeing her a role in a film.
A Mollywood actress has alleged that director Thulasidas behaved inappropriately with her, back in 1991, when she was just starting out as an actress. She said he knocked on her hotel room door and called the room phone, though he did not physically harm her.
The director-actor has been accused by a screenwriter, alleging that, back in 2022, he invited her to Kollam to discuss a script with her but instead tried to kiss her and pushed her onto her hotel room bed. He allegedly sent her Rs. 10,000 as hush money.
