UP FIR lodged against boy for raping 8-year-old cousin

Shahjahanpur (UP), Jul 21 (PTI) A 12-year-old boy allegedly raped his eight-year-old cousin in a village here, police said on Sunday.
    The victim’s family said the boy allegedly raped her when she was alone at home on Saturday, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar told PTI.
    The girl's family members were out for work when they received information that she was injured due to some incident, ASP Kumar said.
    When they reached home, the girl was found bleeding from her private parts, he added. She was then rushed to a hospital, where her condition was said to be stable.
    An FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 65 (2) (rape on a woman under 12 years of age) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he added.
    Efforts are underway to nab the boy, who is absconding, police said.
