US President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed the United Nations General Assembly, covering a wide ranges of topics, including claim about settling India-Pakistan conflict as well as renaming artificial intelligence as "super intelligence", taking a "big decision" on Iran and bringing freedom to Cuba, among several other issues.
Claims about settling India-Pakistan conflict
As usual, Trump once again repeated his claim that he settled the war between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. "Since I took office, it has been my great honour to settle eight wars, and in so doing, become friendly with the leaders of many of those countries. It was a great honour to do it. Numerous of these wars have gone on for many years and even decades," he said.
"Among them, terms of settlement, Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and of course the war in Gaza, which, as I stated previously, includes the return of all hostages, both living and dead," Trump said.
The US president went on to claim that all these countries wrote him a "letter of thank you". "The Prime Minister of Pakistan, terrific man, said that Donald Trump was responsible for saving 30 million lives and probably many more than that," he added.
However, India has always denied third-party intervention, maintaining that a decision cease hostilities with Pakistan was reached after direct talks between Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two militaries.
'Big decision on Iran'
Regarding the ongoing conflict with Tehran, Trump said he has a "big decision to make" after the mid-term elections.
"Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again? I believe we’ll make a deal right after the election," said Trump.
The US president denied that he is under any pressure ahead of the mid-term elections and that he will remain in power for the next two-and-a-half years.
"What they don’t realize is that I’m not running… and I’ll be here for two and a half years. I give absolutely no credence and will not give credence to the election when it comes to Iran. The only thing that does is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon," added Trump.
Renaming AI as 'Super Intelligence'
Trump also declared that US government documents would use "super intelligence" going forward instead of artificial intelligence, claiming that his previous calls about AI warnings were a hoax.
"From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the world's will be changed to use the much more accurate term 'super' as opposed to artificial. So it's super intelligence," he added.
"I'm not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the industrial revolution," the US president asserted.
'Freedom coming to Cuba'
Calling Cuba a "failed state", Trump said freedom will be coming to the Communist nation. "My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under great pressure-the biggest pressure they've ever been under. It's an absolutely failed State, it's failing like never before, and it will fall," Trump said.
"Communism will never be coming to America, but freedom will be coming to Cuba," added the US president.
