Is classical music for everyone? No. But that does not give you the license to snooze off during a charged performance of The Firebird, a composition by Igor Stravinski.
That is exactly what happened at Cascade Theatre in Redding, California, where the North State Symphony was performing the composition.
As the music phased off into a sonorous interlude, a snoozing member of the audience was shaken awake, emitting a shriek in the process.
To their credit, the band continued playing, albeit with loud sniggers and loaded smiles.
After the performance, the music director of the North State Symphony, Scott Seaton, posted the video on YouTube.
