The controversial case pertaining to the sexual assault of an actress in Mollywood seems to be getting murkier by the day; more actors have been coming out with their statements.
Actors Kunchacko Boban, Dileep's former wife Manju Warrier and singer Rimi Tomy submitted their statements to the probe team. According to reports, Boban said Dileep had suggested he back off from the film How Old Are You, in which he starred opposite Manju. The film, a comeback venture for Manju after a hiatus, was very well received by the public.
Rimi Tomy said that Dileep and his current wife Kavya Madhavan were close during Association of Malayalam Movie Artists' (AMMA) US stage show. The assaulted actress had told this to Manju, Rimi said. According to Manju's statement to the police, Dileep harboured anger against the assaulted actress. She also said that it was the actress who informed her about Dileep's relationship with Kavya, and given evidence to support it.
Amid all this, Kavya Madhavan maintained that her husband Dileep was innocent and that he came to know about the assault when they got a call in the morning. The assaulted actress was 'just imagining things', and spread news about her relationship with Dileep earlier, Kavya said. She said she did not know the prime accused Pulsar Suni.
Suni had stated that he was taking instructions from a woman he referred to as 'madam'. He earlier said that the woman was unaware of the conspiracy, and that her involvement was limited to the payment of money. On August 31, Suni revealed that the woman he was referring to was Kavya Madhavan.
In February, the actress in question was assaulted and abducted in a moving car. Dileep has been accused of hatching this conspiracy against her. The police had stated that Dileep wanted to exact 'revenge' from her, because he held her responsible for ending his marriage with his first wife Manju.
