Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, one of the most popular Bollywood superstars, passed away at the age of 79. His nephew and actor Randhir Kapoor confirmed the same to IANS.

Kapoor was reportedly admitted in a Mumbai hospital and had been battling illnesses for some time.
Born Balbir Raj Kapoor, he was conferred the Padmabhushan by the government of India in 2011.
