Trolls who support right-wing groups in the Sangh Parivar reserve the most ire for those on the opposite end of the ideological spectrum. However, leaders of Sangh-related organisations, and even their families, often face the online heat of these trolls when their actions are seen as unpalatable.
Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, learned this the hard way on Tuesday after she promoted a Christmas charity event organised by a radio station in Mumbai.
Love , sharing & empathy have no religion - let’s accept all positivity around us & stay away from negative thoughts & demotivating energies !

Amruta's tweet on the event invited attacks from trolls on her and her husband; while some questioned what her religion was and accused her of promoting Christian missionaries, others asked her to do the same for Hindu festivals.
Amruta later put out a tweet, saying she is a proud Hindu and celebrated all festivals. Recently, Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan had to delete his tweets welcoming a ban on crackers and calling for a 'Green Diwali' after severe criticism by trolls.
