The padayatra of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy—‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’—is all set to reach the first major milestone of 1,000km and make its ripples felt abroad as well. Two months after embarking on a journey to reach out to the masses, the Andhra Pradesh opposition leader will complete 1,000km at the end of this month by entering coastal Andhra from Rayalaseema region.
The party supporters in India as well as abroad have planned ‘walk with Jagananna campaign’ on January 28 and 29 to extend support to Reddy.
On January 28, the event will be held in seven countries including the United States, the UAE, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. On January 29, similar programmes will be held in metro cities— Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru and Delhi. Apart from this, almost every district and constituency in Andhra Pradesh will witness people walking in solidarity with the YSRCP chief. At all the locations, his supporters will participate in a 2km walk and also create awareness about the objectives of Reddy’s padayatra. The walk will be flagged off after paying tributes to late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’, undertaken by Reddy, will cover 3,000km over a period of six months. During the yatra, the Pulivendula MLA and founder of YSRCP will hold exclusive meetings with representatives of various communities. Till date, his padayatra has covered four districts—Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur and Chittoor. According to the party members, nearly 5,000 people join him daily during padyatra and share their problems.
The ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’, which began in Idupulapaya in kadapa district, will conclude at Ichapuram in Srikakulam district.
