Rajasthan buy Aryaman, son of Kumar Birla, for 30 Lakhs

Rajasthan Royals bought Aryaman Vikram Birla, son of business tycoon Kumar Mangalam Birla, at the IPL auction for Rs 30 Lakhs. The IPL 2018 auction had quoted a base price of Rs 20 Lakh, and the franchise expressed interest in the post-lunch session. 

In 2017, the all-rounder had made a debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. His older sister Ananya Birla is a popular musician and had made a splash when she shared the dais with Coldplay in a 2016 Mumbai concert. 

On day two, Gowtham Krishnappa was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.2 crore.

Mumbai Indians made a string of purchases, going for Rahul Chahar, Evin Lewis, Ben Cutting and Saurabh Tiwary, at Rs 1.9 crore, Rs 3.8 crore, Rs 2.2 crore and Rs 80 lakh each.

Delhi Daredevils acquired spinner Shahbaz Nadeem for Rs 3.2 crore. They also bought New Zealand's Trent Boult for Rs 2.2 crore, Australian Daniel Christian for Rs 1.5 crore, Gurkeerat Mann for 75 lakh and Jayant Yadav for 50 lakh.

Kumar Mangalam Birla is the chairman of the conglomerate Aditya Birla group.
